Description Life zones and habitat: Foothills to subalpine; dry, sunny, meadows and woodlands.
Plant: Erect perennial stem 8 to 24 inches tall.
Leaves: Narrow, linear stem leaves about 3/4-inch long.
Inflorescence: Multiple bright blue, saucer-shaped flowers on each stem, each about 1-1/2 inches across and with 5 petals and stamens.
