Description Life zones and habitat: Alpine. Wet tundra, near snow banks, rocky areas.
Plant: Erect or leaning perennial about 4 inches tall or less, may have purplish tinge along stem and inflorence.
Leaves: Basal and stem leaves, fleshy, spatulate, 1-1/2 inches long; stem leaves smaller.
Inflorescence: One-sided cluster of a few to several tubular, two-lipped flowers with wavy brown edges, 3/4-inch long with greenish-white calyx (sepals).
