Description Life zones and habitat: Plains to subalpine. Disturbed areas.
Plant: Perennial 1 to 3 feet high with 1 to 40 stems.
Leaves: Basal leaves spatulate, petiolate and irregularly-toothed; fewer stem leaves that are oblanceolate or spatulate to linear, petiolate or sessile.
Inflorescence: Large composite flowers about 2 inches across, white ray flowers (petals) and yellow to yellow-green disk florets. Center of disk is dented.
