Description Life zones and habitat: Subalpine and alpine. Meadows and tundra.
Plant: Slender perennial up to 6 inches tall.
Leaves: Basal, grasslike leaves up to 6 inches long.
Inflorescence: Small drooping flowers up to 3/4-inch across with 3 sepals and 3 petals that are identical; white with greenish bases and purple veins.
