Description Life zones and habitat: Foothills and montane; dry, sunny openings, pastures and disturbed areas.
Plant: Tall, stout, highly-branched biennial or annual, 20 to 60 inches tall.
Leaves: Alternate composite leaves divided into 3 finely-toothed leaflets, each obovate to elliptic 3/8 to 1-inch long.
Inflorescence: Many small, white pea-like flowers along a slender raceme 1-1/2 to 4-3/4 inches long.
