Description Life zones and habitat: Montane and subalpine. Shady spots, near streams, in forests.
Plant: Short, erect perennial less than 8 inches tall.
Leaves: Deep-green, somewhat leathery, ovate to round, small teeth on edges.
Inflorescence: Small 1/4-inch long greenish-white flowers nodding on one-side of the stem.
