Our previous excursions into Southern Colorado had always included only the Great Sand Dunes, so we decided to venture further south to the areas around La Veta, Cuchara, and Lathrop State Park near Walsenburg. The few days we spent here was very rewarding with beautiful scenery and many wildflowers. As a bonus, we found 14 new species for the website.
